Components of Wear Resistant Refractory Castable
Wear-resistant castables are mainly composed of high-hardness refractory aggregates, powders, and binders. It is a kind of monolithic castable refractory.
The refractory aggregates mainly include fused corundum, sintered high alumina bauxite, fused alumina, silicon carbide, fused mullite, fused zircon corundum, and so on. These aggregates contribute to the different characteristics of the castable. For example, the higher the aluminum content, the higher the bulk density. Additionally, silicon carbide can improve the wear resistance of the castable.
Binders are usually cement or water glass. They can increase the strength of wear-resistant castables.

High Bonding Strength: The aggregates and binders of wear-resistant castables have good bonding properties. Additionally, they have good flowability and quick curing at room temperature.
Good Wear Resistance: The main component is wear-resistant aggregates with high Mohs hardness. Therefore, this material can withstand high mechanical strength and wear.
Slag Corrosion Resistance: The wear-resistant aggregates have good chemical stability. This feature makes this material suitable for use in high-temperature chemically corrosive environments.
Strong Thermal Shock Resistance: The permanent linear change of this castable is within -0.3 to 0.3. This feature allows it to maintain a stable structure in sudden cooling and heating environments.
Simple Construction and Maintenance: It can be directly poured and used at the construction site. The construction is a simpler and faster process than using dense refractory bricks. The construction shape can be controlled as needed.
Applications of High Strength Castable
Due to the strong plasticity of this wear-resistant castable, many high-temperature industries use this material as lining, lining, worn parts, and repair materials.
These industries include power generation, steel & cement, chemicals, metallurgy, and so on.
